Welcome to the Lauderdale Community Council website.
Here you can find information on what the community council does, get in touch with us and read documents from our meetings. The Lauderdale area is shown here.
We want this site to provide a bit more than that and will be including images from around Lauderdale and its surroundings.
In brief Lauder is situated on the main A68 road south from Edinburgh to the English Border, Lauder is virtually unique in having retained the layout of the ancient Scottish Royal Burgh, whilst being able to offer all the facilities of a modern small town. Close to the Lammermuir Hills, with a developing group of pathways, Lauder can offer something of interest to resident and visitor alike, indoors and out, in all weathers, be it the Leisure Centre, Historical Houses, Medieval ruins, walks (Stage 10 and 11 of the Southern Upland way), golf, fishing, Inns, Hotels, self-catering accommodation and a variety of shops from a bakers, a butchers, a Post Office, a cafe, a brasserie, a Newsagent, a Church, a couple of gift shops and of course a Castle (Thirlestane) all within 40 minutes of Edinburgh.
We have added a few useful pages to this Website so feel free to have a look and if you would like us to add a Local Group or useful local link feel free to send an email to admin@lauderdalecommunitycouncil.org.uk
We also have an active Facebook page – through which you can also get in touch with us.
