An email came in from Scottish Borders Council regarding a School Holiday Funding Group which is inviting funding applications to offer provision to families who may need additional support over Christmas. However, the Lauderdale Community Council have been given very short notice on this, but please do apply for it if you feel it might help over this coming Festive period. Please note the closing date for the application is 4th December 2023, We have only been sent notification of this so please do not complain to us for the short period of time to fill this application form in. Going by the SBC it is fairly easy to fill in.
The School Holiday Funding Group is inviting funding applications to offer provision to families
who may need additional support over Christmas. Applications can be considered for target
families where they meet one of the following criteria. However, professional judgement should
also be used for families who may benefit who may not fall within the below noted criteria:
1.Children from low-income households
2.Children from those priority family groups identified in the Tackling Child Poverty
Delivery Plan: larger families; families with a disabled child or adult; young mothers;
families with children under one; and minority ethnic families
3.Children with a disability or additional support need
4.Care experienced children and young people
5.Young carers
6.Children in need of protection
7.Children supported by a child’s plan
8.Children who have undergone significant transitions including starting in ELC, starting
primary school, moving to secondary school and leaving school.

communitygrants@scotborders.gov.uk by: Monday 4th December 2023. Decisions will be made
and shared with applicants by: Wednesday 6th December 2023. We appreciate that this is a
very quick turnaround.
