Roads information

Eildon Works

Lauder - Galashiels

If you discover there are any roads closed or unsafe to travel on due to ice, snow or an accident please advise and we will place a notification up here to advise others . Thank you

With it coming up to the Winter months, we would ask you all to be extremely cautious of all roads, but in particular the back roads. Black ice is inevitable on the areas where the light is protected by trees or bushes so:

  • On behalf of all please make all ‘new drivers’ aware of these hazards make sure you drive with care, especially going round the corners,
  • Stay a safe distance away
  • While preparing to turn sharp corners always imagine yourself coming round the same corner but from the other direction!
  • Be aware of all pedestrians as you approach a junction or traffic lights
  • A note for pedestrians – please always be aware of the stopping distance of any vehicle before crossing any road and teach your children the same.

On behalf of all who use our roads and pavements . . . thank you.
